Okada Rider Claims Victim ‘Needed Him For The Night’ After Alleged Assault (Video)

A commercial motorcyclist recently apprehended by the Oyo State Police for allegedly assaulting a female passenger has claimed she seemed to “need him for the night” after asking for a place to stay.

The suspect, identified as Kazeem, was among several individuals paraded by the Oyo State Police Command. The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso, explained that on October 17 around 10:15 p.m., the suspect picked up the woman who had just arrived from Lagos at the Olorunsogo area in Ibadan, intending to take her to her destination in Adeshina. However, he diverted to a different route under the pretense of collecting something from his wife’s shop in the Ogbere area.

The police report revealed that the suspect forced her into his wife’s shop, where he allegedly assaulted her. Medical examinations noted physical injuries consistent with the assault, and evidence including female clothing items was collected from the scene.

Kazeem, however, claimed the incident was consensual, stating, “She seemed lost and asked for help to find somewhere to stay for the night. After taking her to my wife’s shop, we ended up spending the night together.” The investigation remains ongoing as authorities review evidence.
