North West Commission Aligns With Tinubu’s Agenda, Pushes for Grassroots Impact

The North West Development Commission (NWDC) has issued a passionate appeal to lawmakers across the region, calling on them to focus on impactful projects that directly benefit their constituents, reduce poverty, and promote national development. The call was made by the Commission’s Managing Director, Professor Shehu Abdullahi Ma’aji, during the launch of a free fertiliser distribution initiative spearheaded by Senator Babangida Hussain in Sule-Tankarkar Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

ACCORDING TO IREPORTER ONLINE, Professor Ma’aji stressed that members of the National Assembly, being closest to the people, must adopt people-centered programmes that reflect the essence of democracy. He emphasized that empowerment projects targeted at the common citizenry would not only deepen democratic dividends but also align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The Commission reiterated its readiness to back initiatives that ensure tangible development across the North West zone, adding that the federal government’s mandate must be reflected in the living conditions of ordinary Nigerians. Senator Babangida Hussain, who also chairs the North West Development Commission, echoed this vision during the event, noting that the fertiliser distribution effort was designed to boost agricultural productivity and strengthen food security in the region.

ACCORDING TO IREPORTER ONLINE, Senator Hussain stated that many farmers in his constituency had expressed grave concerns over their inability to afford fertiliser due to rising costs and losses incurred during the previous dry season. The Senator explained that the current intervention is part of a broader strategy to ensure farmers return to their fields with renewed hope and government support.

In response to this growing crisis, the NWDC has pledged to scale up collaborations with elected officials to implement solutions that respond directly to the needs of citizens.
