Osun PDP Declares For Tinubu 2027 – But Begs Gov. Adeleke Not To Jump Ship

The Osun State caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in the 2027 general elections, while reaffirming full support for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s second-term bid in 2026

The resolution was contained in a communiqué issued on Monday following a strategic meeting at the Osogbo Government House.

The caucus stated that after extensive consultations with traditional rulers, religious bodies, civil servants, retirees, market unions, and grassroots stakeholders across Osun, both President Tinubu and Governor Adeleke enjoy massive support, “far beyond any competing political interest,” ACCORDING TO IREPORTER ONLINE.

The communiqué also addressed swirling rumours of Governor Adeleke’s potential defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), clarifying that such moves neither originated from the governor nor received backing from the majority of APC members in the state, in fact, it stated, some APC leaders have demonstrated public hostility towards Adeleke, further reinforcing the PDP’s decision to stand by him.

It further highlighted that many PDP loyalists are concerned about any shift to the APC, though they remain unwavering in their commitment to follow Adeleke out of loyalty and admiration for his leadership style.

“The party structure in Osun has been mandated to begin mass sensitisation of the resolution,” the communiqué declared.

Governor Adeleke was encouraged to continue implementing his administration’s Five-Point Development Agenda, with PDP leaders rallying behind him in unity and purpose, ACCORDING TO IREPORTER ONLINE.

The communiqué was signed by Governor Adeleke alongside prominent PDP stalwarts including Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Kola Adewusi, Lere Oyewumi, Bamidele Salam, Moruf Adebayo, Lukman Mudashiru, Soji Adetunji, and several others.
