Sokoto Authorizes Early February Salary Payments Ahead Of Ramadan
Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has approved the early payment of February salaries to workers across the state ahead of this year’s Ramadan fasting period. According to Ireporter Online, the governor gave the approval on Thursday, February 12, 2026, with disbursement scheduled to begin on Friday, February 13, 2026.
The Director General of Media and Publicity at the Government House in Sokoto, Abubakar Bawa, disclosed that the move is intended to enable civil servants to prepare adequately for the holy month. The early payment will cover employees in the State Civil Service, staff of all Local Government Councils, workers of the Local Government Education Authority, and pensioners throughout the state.
Governor Aliyu encouraged workers to respond positively to the gesture by demonstrating greater dedication and commitment to their duties. He called on civil servants to be regular at work, sincere in their responsibilities, and diligent in executing assignments, emphasizing that such efforts are essential for the government to meet the needs and expectations of the people of Sokoto State.
The governor also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a strong and efficient civil service, focused on improving service delivery and ensuring that public institutions operate effectively. He expressed gratitude to residents of the state for their consistent support and prayers for his administration.
