Resign If You Feel You’re Earning Nothing — Gov Namadi Fires Warning To Appointees
According to Ireporter Online, the Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi, has issued a strong directive to all political appointees, urging them to place the welfare of citizens at the grassroots at the forefront of their responsibilities.
The warning was contained in a press statement signed by his media aide, Zainab S. Rabo, following a stakeholders’ meeting held on Sunday at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Dutse.
Governor Namadi reiterated that his administration is anchored on the promotion of unity, mutual support, and people-centred governance. He stressed that public office holders must remain humane, responsive, and fully committed to improving the living standards of citizens across all levels.
He further called on appointees to strengthen their connection with the people, insisting that effective leadership is measured by service delivery, compassion, and dedication to the well-being of the masses.
The governor’s remarks come amid increasing public complaints against some political office holders, with allegations that certain appointees are unwilling to extend support to citizens despite the resources available to them.
Reacting to such concerns, Namadi cautioned that any appointee who feels they have nothing to contribute from what they earn should consider stepping aside.
“Anybody who feels he earns nothing to use in supporting the public should resign,” the Governor was quoted as saying.
