Wenger Still Believes! Arsenal Backed For Title Glory Despite Man City Defeat
Former Arsène Wenger has expressed strong confidence that Arsenal can still secure the league title despite recent setbacks that have seen the team drop crucial points.
According to Ireporter Online, the Gunners suffered back-to-back defeats, losing 2-1 at home to AFC Bournemouth before falling by the same scoreline away to Manchester City. The results have intensified the title race, putting pressure on both sides as the season approaches its climax.
Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City squad have the opportunity to overtake Arsenal in the standings if they secure victory against Burnley in their midweek clash at Turf Moor.
Despite the shifting dynamics, Wenger remains optimistic about Arsenal’s chances, insisting that his former club still holds the advantage in the race. He praised the team’s attacking display and highlighted key players such as Eberechi Eze, Martin Ødegaard, Kai Havertz, and Noni Madueke, expressing confidence that Manchester City may not maintain a flawless finish to the campaign.
The defeat at the Etihad Stadium has left both title contenders dependent on each other dropping points in the remaining fixtures. Even if Arsenal win all their games, Manchester City could still draw level and potentially clinch the title on goal difference, with a similar scenario possible in reverse.
With Manchester City set to play ahead of Arsenal, Mikel Arteta’s side may temporarily lose top spot. However, the North London club will have an immediate opportunity to respond in upcoming home fixtures against Newcastle United and Fulham, while City are scheduled to face Everton in early May.
