The Labour Party has announced the appointment of chairmen and members of its electoral subcommittees to oversee the forthcoming ward, local government, and state congresses nationwide, as part of preparations for its 2026 National Convention.

According to Ireporter Online, the appointments were disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja by Ken Asogwa, Senior Special Adviser (Media) to the Interim National Chairman, Nenadi Usman. The statement explained that the subcommittees, made up of seasoned party members, have been mandated to supervise the conduct of congresses in their respective states, ensuring a credible and transparent process.

Addressing the appointees, Senator Usman charged them to carry out their responsibilities with fairness, transparency, and integrity, stressing the importance of upholding the party’s core values of equal opportunity and social justice throughout the exercise. She emphasized that the credibility of the party must be maintained during the congress process.

The Interim National Chairman also reaffirmed that the party’s National Convention is scheduled to take place on April 28, 2026, in Umuahia, Abia State, assuring members and supporters that adequate arrangements have been concluded to guarantee a smooth and successful event.

The list of appointed chairmen spans across all states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, reflecting the party’s nationwide structure and readiness for the upcoming internal electoral processes.
