The Nigerian naira traded at different rates against the United States dollar in the parallel foreign exchange market on Saturday, August 22, 2026, with market operators quoting a selling rate of ₦1,410 per dollar and a buying rate of ₦1,400.
According to market sources, Bureau De Change (BDC) operators at the Lagos Parallel Market sold one US dollar for ₦1,410 and bought it at ₦1,400.

Meanwhile, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not recognise the parallel or black market as an official foreign exchange market. The apex bank has advised individuals seeking forex to conduct their transactions through authorised financial institutions.
At the official market, the dollar was quoted within a range of ₦1,342 to ₦1,348, according to the available figures.
Forex rates can vary depending on the location, dealer, market conditions and transaction volume. As a result, the rates available to buyers and sellers may differ from those reported above.
