Tinubu Deserves More Time As President’ – Olubadan
The Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rasheed Ladoja, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, saying the Nigerian leader should be allowed to remain in office for a long time based on his performance.
According to IREPORTER ONLINE, Ladoja made the remarks on Monday during the flag-off ceremony for the dualisation of the Ibadan-Ijebu Road in Ogun State.
The monarch stressed that the event was not a gathering organised for the All Progressives Congress (APC), but an occasion to appreciate President Tinubu for approving the major road project.
Ladoja said Tinubu should be viewed as the President of all Nigerians rather than through the lens of party politics. He argued that the administration’s efforts, particularly the road project, demonstrated its commitment to improving the lives of citizens.
The Olubadan also highlighted security concerns associated with the Ibadan-Ijebu Road, noting that cases of kidnapping had occurred along the route. He expressed optimism that the reconstruction and expansion of the road would improve security, connectivity and economic activities in the area.
According to the monarch, Tinubu’s achievements could have a positive impact on the electoral fortunes of the APC, although he maintained that the President’s responsibilities extend beyond the ruling party.
Ladoja further stated that Tinubu’s performance should be assessed on the basis of his impact on Nigerians and not solely on his political affiliation. He added that opposition parties would have to convince Nigerians that they have a better alternative before the electorate would consider changing the government.
The traditional ruler expressed confidence that the people of Ibadan would ultimately make their political decision when the next election arrives, stressing that voters would determine the direction they want to take.
He also maintained that the President’s approval of the Ibadan-Ijebu Road project was significant to residents, particularly given the road’s importance to movement, commerce and security across the region.
