Gunmen, believed to be kidnappers, had stormed the church premises, seizing Seyifunmi and another member, Oluboboye Abiola. The distressing incident sent shockwaves through the community, prompting swift action from law enforcement agencies.

Confirming the successful rescue operation, SP Omolola Odutola, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, announced Seyifunmi’s safe return through the tireless efforts of a collaborative search mission involving policemen, hunters, the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), and Amotekun personnel.

Expressing gratitude on her verified Facebook page, Odutola assured the public of Seyifunmi’s safety and reunion with his family, offering a glimmer of relief amid concern.

In a separate development, the Ogun State Police Command has apprehended a 24-year-old man, Gadafi Bala, for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl in Ogijo, Sagamu Local Government Area. The distressing incident, which occurred on Thursday, has sparked outrage within the community.
