Amidst inter-ethnic, inter-religious, and banditry-related tensions, Musa emphasized the need for the people of Plateau to embrace their differences rather than letting them fuel discord.
In an Instagram post on Thursday, Ahmed Musa expressed his concern for the state, which has witnessed recent violent incidents resulting in loss of lives and property.
The most capped player in Super Eagles’ history urged the residents of Plateau to come together as one big family, highlighting that many families in the state comprise both Christians and Muslims.
“Our state is hurting, and we need to come together. The fights, the killings – it’s too much. We are all one big family, no matter our religion,” Musa wrote passionately.
Pointing out the diverse religious landscape of Plateau, Musa called for a celebration of differences rather than conflict. He appealed to leaders to prioritize the safety and peace of the people, urging them to restore the state to its former status as the “Home of Peace and Tourism.”
With a resounding call for unity, the Super Eagles’ captain encouraged residents to stand side by side, irrespective of their religious affiliations. He emphasized the power of collective action, urging everyone to join hands, pray, and ask for peace.
As Plateau State grapples with the challenges of insecurity, Ahmed Musa’s plea serves as a poignant reminder of the collective responsibility to restore the harmony and tranquility that the region once enjoyed.
