Edo State Chapter of APC Responds to Election Rigging Allegations

In a recent development, the Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed allegations of election rigging ahead of the upcoming governorship election. The party has labeled claims made by Emmanuel Odigie, a prominent member of the Edo Integrity Group, as unfounded and provocative.

During an interview on Arise Television, Odigie accused key figures, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, of orchestrating a scheme to manipulate the September 21 governorship election in Edo State. He alleged that the APC was planning to use the police to intimidate voters and that President Bola Tinubu would be sidelined in the process.

In response, the APC’s Edo Governorship Campaign Council, led by Director of Publicity Orobosa Omo-Ojo, vehemently refuted these allegations. The party condemned Odigie’s claims as baseless and criticized the inflammatory nature of his remarks. Omo-Ojo accused Odigie of making “reckless and incendiary” comments and urged caution regarding calls for military intervention.
