In a strongly-worded statement issued by life bencher Uwemedimo Nwoko (SAN), the appeal court justices call for accountability from Abbo, urging him to retract his claims and offer apologies to the implicated judges and the entire judiciary.

The statement underscores the gravity of Abbo’s accusations, labeling them as “reckless” and “unconscionable,” and emphasizes the absence of any concrete evidence to support his allegations.

Referring to Abbo’s previous apology to Senator Godswill Akpabio for similar unfounded claims, the statement highlights the senator’s history of retracting baseless accusations when challenged to provide evidence.

The judiciary asserts its unwavering commitment to upholding integrity and defending the reputations of its justices against unjustified attacks. It firmly warns Abbo to either substantiate his claims with verifiable evidence or face the full force of legal consequences for his actions.

In conclusion, the statement calls for an end to such unwarranted assaults on the judiciary, emphasizing the imperative of respecting the integrity of judicial officers and the rule of law.

The message is clear: produce evidence or prepare to face the legal consequences.
