(16), and Abdullahi Usman (17), residents of Dutsen-Kura Gwari area, were notorious for their spate of break-ins targeting homes and religious establishments.

According to DSP Wsiu Abiodun, spokesperson of the command, the arrest followed a routine patrol by the Anti-kidnapping unit along Dutsen-Kura/Shanu village area. The patrol team intercepted the suspects, who were carrying two suspicious sacks late at night.

Upon search, the sacks were found to contain seven wall fans stolen from a Juma’at Mosque in Dutsen-Kura/Kwasau area the previous night. The suspects confessed to the crime, revealing their intention to sell the stolen goods at Kasuwa-Gwari.

Further investigation revealed the trio’s notorious reputation in the neighborhood for breaking into homes and religious houses to steal valuable items.

The swift action of the police underscores their commitment to curbing crime and ensuring the safety and security of residents in Niger State. The suspects have been charged to court for prosecution, marking a significant step in bringing justice to the victims of their nefarious activities.
