A technician named Badmus Ola has tragically lost his life due to electrocution in the Kajola area via Owode-Egba, Ogun State.

According to an eyewitness who spoke anonymously to PUNCH Online, the incident occurred around 4:45 pm on Christmas Day. The technician, along with five others, was reportedly contracted to remove a billboard in the area and replace it with a new one.

During the process of replacing the billboard, the unfortunate incident happened.

It was reported that the deceased victim, Ola, was holding onto an iron rod, and he was electrocuted when the iron rod mistakenly came into contact with the high-tension cable.

Confirming the incident, the Ogun State Public Relations Officer, Odutola Omolola, stated to PUNCH Online on Tuesday that the corpse had been removed and deposited at a mortuary in the area.

“It happened yesterday (Monday) when they were removing a billboard. He died instantly. The corpse has been deposited at the Idera Hospital Morgue,” Odutola said.
