Bandits Kill Two Soldiers, Kidnap Chinese Man In Niger

Bandits on Monday killed two soldiers Land abducted a Chinese in the Magama Local Government Area of Niger state.

It was learnt that the bandits attacked Libale community in Nasko in the area but was confronted by heavy military resistance.

This resulted into exchange of fire between the bandits and the military, the Nation reports.

A security source said two military men were killed in the attack while several others were injured.

However, there is no information as to how many bandits were injured or killed in the exchange of fire.

A resident of the village said the bandits ran into ‘mountain Libale,’ a popular mountain in the community.

The military and other security agents are said to be combing the mountains and the forest for the bandits.

The Chinese was identified as a worker in the construction firm handling a road project in the area.
