Borno Under Siege: Governor Zulum Says Boko Haram Now Attacks Daily Without Resistance ‘He Cries Out’
Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has raised alarm over the increasing daily attacks and kidnappings by Boko Haram terrorists in several communities across the state.
Speaking at a Special Expanded Security Meeting in Maiduguri, the Governor warned that Borno is losing ground in the fight against insurgency. He said terrorists now operate freely in places like Wajirko, Sabon Gari, Wulgo, and Izge, where they have overrun military bases and are killing civilians and security personnel……..READ MORE
Zulum lamented that despite years of support from the state government to the military, the resurgence of these attacks signals a major setback for peace in Borno and the Northeast region.
He, however, thanked President Bola Tinubu and the security forces for their continued efforts and urged the federal government to provide more modern technology and equipment to help the military combat the growing threat, especially in border communities near Chad, Niger, and Cameroon.
Meanwhile, the Shehu of Borno revealed that three local government areas — Guzamala, Marte, and Abadam — are still under the full control of Boko Haram. He called on the federal government to rebuild damaged roads in these areas to restore access and authority.
The situation remains tense as both the state and traditional rulers continue to appeal for urgent action.
