Ogunyemi explained that a Scania truck, carrying perishable goods, overturned due to speeding and obstructed part of the expressway. Another vehicle, driven recklessly, collided with the fallen truck, triggering a series of crashes involving several other vehicles.

He said, “A Sino truck, also speeding and impatient, rammed into a Toyota Sienna, causing further damage to the other vehicles involved.”

The TRACE report revealed that all 32 occupants—20 men and 12 women—escaped unharmed, with no reported injuries or fatalities.

The vehicles involved included a Ford Jeep (KTU 980 FP), a Nissan Jeep (GGE 440XP), a Sienna (AAA 609 LA), a Toyota Highlander (WDE 831AAA), a Mazda bus (GNN 860 XB), a Toyota bus (SMK 860 FK), a Sino truck (JBD 51 XB), a Scania truck (T.22058LA), and a Toyota Camry (SRA 669 BL).

Traffic in the area was severely affected but was eventually cleared with the assistance of TRACE operatives and Shagamu Police. Ogunyemi commended their efforts in restoring normalcy.
