Lagbaja made this plea during his operational debut visit to Headquarters 35 Artillery Brigade at Alamala Barracks, Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Thursday.
Addressing the troops, he emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing their concerns and assured them of ongoing efforts to improve their welfare.
“The army is undergoing transformation with the full support of the president and the current government. The ongoing renovations within your barracks are evidence of the government’s commitment, as funds have been allocated for this purpose,” Lagbaja stated.
He also highlighted the resolution of long-standing issues such as Group Life Assurance, which had been a concern for thousands of families. Lagbaja assured that various challenges, including accommodation, medical facilities, soldiers’ amenities, and electricity, are being addressed by relevant departments at the army headquarters.
Encouraging the troops to appreciate the substantial investment made by taxpayers, Lagbaja urged them to redouble their efforts in fulfilling their duties.
“I want to encourage you to redouble your efforts by showing gratitude for the great investment of taxpayer’s money,” he affirmed, emphasizing the principle that “to whom much is given, much is expected.”
