Breaking: Deadly Bus Fire Claims Four Lives, Injures Ten Others

A tragic fire incident in Jigawa State has claimed four lives and left ten others injured after a Hummer bus caught fire near Gwaram’s Government Girls Unity Secondary School.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the blaze started when the vehicle’s exhaust pipe ignited a mattress strapped to the back of the bus.

The victims have been identified as Zuwairah Hassan (40), Fatima Hassan (5), Iyatale Hassan (3), and Halima Muhammad (10), all from Saldiga village in Bauchi State. The ten injured passengers were taken to Gwaram Cottage Hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased have been handed over to their families.

The Jigawa State Police Command has urged drivers to prioritize safety, avoid overloading, and conduct regular vehicle checks to prevent similar tragedies. Investigations are ongoing to determine any possible negligence that may have contributed to the incident.
