BREAKING: FULL TIME Match Details Of What Transpired Between Zimbabwe And Nigeria
In their second World Cup qualifying match at Huye Stadium in Rwanda, Nigeria’s Super Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw by the Warriors of Zimbabwe on Sunday.
Under pressure to secure a positive result after an unimpressive draw against Lesotho at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium the previous Thursday, the Super Eagles faced an early setback when Zimbabwe’s Musona scored a stunning 30-meter free kick in the 26th minute, beating Nigeria’s goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho.

Despite having Victor Osimhen and Taiwo Awoniyi leading the attack, the 2013 AFCON champions struggled to assert themselves, with Zimbabwe being the stronger side at halftime.
At halftime, coach Jose Peseiro made three changes, bringing on Victor Boniface, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Osayi-Samuel for Ola Oina, Onyeka, and Nathan Tella, respectively. This tactical adjustment proved effective when Iheanacho scored a goal in the 67th minute, firing a shot just inside the left post to equalize for the Super Eagles.
Despite continued efforts to find the winning goal in the closing stages, Nigeria was unable to break down the resolute defense of the Warriors.
