Breaking News: Federal Government Bans Single-Use Plastics In All MDAs
The federal government has announced a ban on single-use plastics across all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
Minister of State for Environment, Iziaq Adekunle Salako, revealed this decision to journalists following the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, presided over by President Bola Tinubu at the State House in Abuja.
Salako emphasized that the ban is part of the government’s broader plastic waste management strategy. He stated, “This initiative demonstrates our commitment to addressing the triple threat of climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution.”
The minister also highlighted the severity of plastic pollution in Nigeria, calling it “a major issue in our country.”
