However, the governor expressed concerns over the rapid spread of rumors surrounding the incident. He urged the public to use social media responsibly, emphasizing that it should not be a platform for spreading false information.

Mutfwang reassured the public, saying, “A rumor had circulated this morning in Jos, claiming there was a bomb threat, which led to the presence of the EOPD of the Police. I am pleased to confirm that no bomb was found. While it was good that citizens were alert and reported a suspicious object, we must be cautious with how information is shared.”

He also highlighted the importance of responsible social media usage, stressing that it must not be exploited to create unnecessary panic or destabilize the community.
