a special moment for the club and its passionate supporters.
Previously, Kano Pillars had been hosting their home games at the Muhammad Dikko Stadium in Katsina due to renovations at their home ground. Despite this, the team has remained competitive, with a strong record of three wins, one draw, and one loss during this period. Their most recent triumph—a 2-0 away win against Bendel Insurance—has boosted their morale as they prepare for their homecoming. Currently sitting in fifth place on the NPFL table with 17 points, the team remains determined to build on their positive form.
On the other hand, Shooting Stars’ technical adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote, has expressed optimism following his team’s 3-0 victory over El-Kanemi Warriors. This impressive win at the Lekan Salami Stadium ended El-Kanemi’s unbeaten streak and has provided a significant confidence boost for the Oluyole Warriors. Ogunbote believes that the momentum from this victory will be pivotal as the team prepares for their upcoming match against Ikorodu City.
Ogunbote shared his thoughts with the club’s media: “I believe the result of our last match will improve the boys’ confidence. My goal has always been for us to have a fair playing field, so we can focus on our game and aim for a positive outcome.”
Shooting Stars will face Ikorodu City at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, on Sunday in a historic first meeting between the two clubs in the NPFL.
