Sources told Daily Trust that the bandits attempted to launch an attack on the town, but were thwarted by soldiers and local hunters. It is believed that Turji himself may be leading the assault. One source stated, “The exchange of gunfire began around 6 AM and continues as of 2:45 PM. The situation is intense, and the town is in lockdown with no movement in or out.”

The source expressed concern over the uncertainty of the situation, adding, “The fight is still ongoing, and we don’t know what will happen in the next few hours. We can only provide more details once the confrontation ends. Our hope is that Bello Turji is among those defeated in this battle.”

Another source described the conflict as the most severe clash the town has seen, with local residents praying that Turji is ultimately killed in the skirmish. “This is the worst battle we’ve witnessed here. We hope this will be the end of Turji’s reign,” they added.

The community is also hoping for additional military reinforcements to help turn the tide of the ongoing confrontation.
