BREAKING: Supreme Court Delivers Ruling On Atiku’s Plea To File Fresh Evidence Against Tinubu
The Supreme Court has rejected Atiku Abubakar’s request to introduce additional evidence against President Bola Tinubu.
During the hearing of the appeals contesting Bola Tinubu’s victory at the Presidential Election Tribunal Court (PEPC), Justice Inyang Okoro announced the decision on Thursday.
Atiku had sought permission from the court to present further evidence to support his claim that Tinubu submitted a falsified certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Chris Uche (SAN), Atiku’s counsel, argued that the 32-page document provided to his client should be accepted in the interest of justice.
However, Justice Okoro pointed out that the time frame for admitting such evidence had lapsed. He referenced Section 285(5) of the 1999 Constitution, as amended, which stipulates that the PEPC is responsible for hearing and determining all petitions arising from the presidential election.
Since the 180-day period ended on September 17, the Supreme Court, he stated, lacked the jurisdiction to admit the document.
