BREAKING: Supreme Court Mandates Direct Payment Of Funds To Nigerian Local Governments!
The apex court declared that state control over local government funds is unconstitutional.
DAILY POST recalls that on Thursday, June 13, Justice Garba Mohammed Lawal reserved judgment in the suit, indicating that parties involved would be notified once the judgment was prepared.
Justice Lawal, leading a 7-member panel of Justices of the Supreme Court, reserved the judgment after hearing arguments from both the federal government and the state governors.
The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, represented the federal government, while the 36 state governors were represented by their respective lawyers
