BREAKING: Supreme Court Takes Decision In Case Seeking Uzodinma’s Sack

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma

The Supreme Court has rescheduled the hearing on the application by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to unseat Hope Uzodinma as the Governor of Imo State to December 5.

Initially, the apex court had slated October 31, 2023, as the start date for the proceedings.

In 2020, APGA submitted an application arguing that a fresh election should have been conducted in the state after the Supreme Court invalidated the election of Emeka Ihedioha, the Peoples Democratic Party candidate.

The party contended that the Supreme Court did not make a determination on the validity of Uzodinma’s candidacy as it was not contested by Ihedioha and the PDP in the appeal labeled SC/1462/2019.

After three years of filing the application, the Supreme Court set the hearing for Tuesday. However, upon inquiry by journalists at the apex court, the case was not found on the court’s cause list.

A registrar from the apex court informed journalists that the case has been moved to December 5.

Unfortunately, no explanation was provided for the postponement of the case.
