Chaos In Imo As Gunmen Storm Residence, Kidnap Ohanaeze Youth President
Owerri, Imo State – The President of the Ohanaeze Youth Council, Igboayaka Igboayaka, has been abducted from his residence in the Works Layout area of Owerri. Chilos Godsent, the National President of the Igbo National Council, confirmed the abduction in a public statement, describing the manner of the kidnapping as resembling a “Neo Mafia Gestapo” operation. Following the incident, all attempts by family, friends, and members of the Ohanaeze Youth Council to contact Igboayaka have been unsuccessful, as his mobile phones were switched off immediately after the abduction.
Imo State Police spokesperson, DSP Henry Okoye, has confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are underway to locate Igboayaka and bring the perpetrators to justice.
This comes amid rising insecurity in parts of Nigeria, with reports of similar kidnappings and attacks in Katsina and Delta States.
