Dollar To Naira Today: Latest Exchange Rate Update For April 25, 2026
The exchange rate between the United States dollar and the Nigerian naira at the parallel market, commonly referred to as the black market, recorded notable activity on April 24, 2026. According to market sources cited by Ireporter Online, traders at the Lagos parallel market exchanged the dollar at a selling rate of ₦1,400, while the buying rate stood at ₦1,392. These figures reflect the prevailing rates offered by Bureau De Change operators within the informal forex segment.
Reports indicate that despite the continued reliance on the black market by many Nigerians seeking foreign exchange, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) maintains its stance against the practice. The apex bank has consistently advised individuals and businesses to obtain foreign currency through official banking channels, emphasizing that it does not recognize transactions conducted within the parallel market.
Further data shows that within the official window, the CBN recorded the dollar trading between a high of ₦1,361 and a low of ₦1,354 for the same period. Market observers, however, note that exchange rates across both official and unofficial segments remain subject to fluctuations, with actual buying and selling prices varying depending on location and demand dynamics.
