Dollar Vs Naira Today: Check January 16, 2026 Exchange Rate Now
According to financial market sources, the black market, also known as the parallel market or Aboki FX, recorded the dollar to naira exchange rate at ₦1,500 for sales and ₦1,485 for purchases in Lagos on Thursday, January 15, 2026. Market operators at Bureau De Change outlets provided the figures, reflecting the ongoing disparity between official and unofficial forex rates.
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not recognize the parallel market and has reiterated that individuals seeking foreign exchange should transact through licensed banks. For reference, the CBN’s official exchange rate for the dollar ranged from ₦1,418 at its lowest to ₦1,422 at its highest on the same day.
Traders and individuals are advised to note that actual rates for buying or selling foreign currency may differ from reported figures, as black market prices fluctuate frequently.
