There are established procedures in the Nigeria Police for releasing such sensitive investigative documents. Mr. Matthew should follow this procedure so as to legally obtain the said document.

There is a rule to protect the interest of parties in a dispute. Records and documents are not released to only one party, except with the consent of all parties. The Police, as a law-abiding public institution, is committed to seeing that parties in disputes such as this are treated fairly and equitably. This is why it has insisted on following due process in releasing the DNA results.
