Ex-NEMA Boss, Sambo Ally Sani Sidi Dumps PDP for APC in Kaduna

Sani Sidi, a former Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and political associate of ex-Vice President Namadi Sambo, has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State. He was accompanied by a large group of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyalists.

The defection event, held at the Kaduna International Trade Fair Complex on Wednesday, drew the attendance of high-ranking APC members, including Governor Uba Sani, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and Minister of Environment Malam Balarabe Abbas.

Welcoming Sidi and his supporters, Governor Sani expressed that the return of the former NEMA boss to the APC was a result of the administration’s commitment to justice and people-focused governance. He described Sidi as a highly respected political figure in the state, acknowledging his contributions to public service.

He noted that Sidi’s political involvement was motivated by a genuine desire to serve, not personal gain. “He is a man of means, but his commitment to development and the people of Kaduna State is what drives him,” Sani added.

Speaker Abbas lauded the inclusive leadership style of the APC in Kaduna and highlighted Sidi’s defection as evidence of the party’s rising popularity and national appeal.

In his own remarks, Sidi expressed gratitude and conviction, stating his move to the APC was informed by shared values and a unified vision for progress.

He revealed that months of grassroots consultations across all 23 local government areas had led to the conclusion that the APC best aligned with their development agenda.
