The footage, recorded on Sunday, January 28, 2024, depicts Rosie scouring the shrubs before courageously pulling out a snake with its jaws wrapped around her small guinea pig, MaxiBon. Undeterred, Rosie swiftly takes action, swinging the snake around to compel it to release her beloved pet.

“I didn’t even think it through. I was just like, ‘grab the snake, grab the snake’,” Rosie recounted to 7NEWS.

As the intense rescue unfolds, Rosie’s father arrives on the scene, successfully separating the snake from the guinea pig. MaxiBon scampers to safety, and both the courageous girl and her cherished pet emerge unharmed.

“I’m proud that my Rosie, at 12 years old, had the guts to pick up a snake and save her pet’s life,” expressed a proud dad, Luke Wightman. The extraordinary tale of Rosie’s fearless feat is a testament to the unyielding bond between a child and her furry companion, transcending fear to ensure a happy ending for MaxiBon
