Federal Lawmaker Contracts 15 Filling Stations To Sell Petrol At N430 Per Litre (DETAILS)
Hon. Ahmed Satomi, who represents Jere federal constituency in Borno state, has taken a proactive approach to alleviate the economic hardship caused by the removal of fuel subsidies.
He has contracted 15 filling stations in Jere local government and Maiduguri metropolis to sell Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, for the subsidized price of N430 per litre.

The contracted filling stations include well-known brands like G-Nile, NNPC mega stations, Total, and Bamus Oil, among others.
Over the weekend, 100,000 litres of petrol were dispensed to motorists and residents in Maiduguri and Jere as part of this initiative.
Hon. Satomi emphasized that these palliatives are meant to mitigate the impact of fuel subsidy removal on both motorists and civil servants, and they are open to everyone regardless of political affiliation.
He also called on affluent individuals and organizations to follow his example and contribute to improving the living conditions of Nigerians, stressing that palliative efforts should not be solely the responsibility of the government.
The current official price of petrol in Nigeria ranges from N630 to N637 per litre, making it a significant economic burden for residents of Borno State. Hon. Satomi’s initiative aims to provide some relief to the people and help them cope with the rising fuel costs.
Hon. Abba Kolo Kyari, a committee member overseeing the initiative, announced that the palliatives would continue until their target of 100,000 litres of subsidized petrol is reached. He urged the public to conduct themselves peacefully while accessing the product at the designated filling stations and encouraged others to join in similar acts of generosity.
