Foluke Daramola Picks Up Reps Nomination Form

According to Ireporter Online, Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola has officially joined the growing list of entertainers stepping into Nigeria’s political space after obtaining her nomination and expression of interest forms to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives.

The actress confirmed the development via a Facebook post, where she shared a photograph of herself holding the electoral documents. Daramola had earlier declared her intention to represent Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency 1 in the upcoming elections.

In her message, she emphasized her commitment to promoting legislation that would improve workers’ welfare if elected into office. She also encouraged residents of the constituency to remain focused and intentional in pursuing their aspirations.

Speaking in a prayerful note, she described herself as a servant-leader and potential aspirant, seeking divine guidance and collective progress for the constituency. She expressed optimism that stronger development could be achieved in Oshodi through unity and shared purpose.

Her words read in part: “As your servant and potential aspirant for the House of Representatives, Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency 1, I, Hon. Foluke Daramola-Salako, lift you up in prayers: May Almighty God open doors of opportunities for us all and keep us safe. Together, we will build a stronger, better Oshodi.”

Her political ambition further highlights the increasing involvement of Nigerian entertainers in partisan politics ahead of the 2027 general elections. This development comes shortly after reports that socialite Cubana Chief Priest picked up nomination forms to contest a federal legislative seat in Imo State under the All Progressives Congress (APC), while actor Zubby Michael also signaled interest in a House of Representatives bid under the African Democratic Congress.

Daramola, who began her Nollywood career in 1998, has featured in numerous films over the years, establishing herself as a familiar face in the Nigerian movie industry.
