Paris Saint-Germain have been crowned Ligue 1 champions for the fifth consecutive season after securing a 2-0 victory over Lens, sealing the title race with a game remaining in the campaign.

According to Ireporter Online, the result confirmed PSG’s 14th French top-flight title overall, further strengthening their dominance in domestic football, having now won 12 of the last 14 Ligue 1 seasons.

The breakthrough came in the 29th minute when Georgia international Khvicha Kvaratskhelia finished clinically after Ousmane Dembélé capitalised on a defensive error and set him up. Substitute Ibrahim Mbaye later added the second goal deep into stoppage time to put the result beyond doubt.

Although PSG only required a draw to mathematically secure the title, they delivered a commanding performance to underline their superiority. Goalkeeper Matvei Safonov also played a key role, producing several important saves to keep Lens at bay during their periods of pressure.

Speaking after the match, PSG manager Luis Enrique described the triumph as particularly challenging, noting the competitiveness of the campaign and praising Lens for their strong form throughout the season.

PSG now sit nine points clear at the top of the table with one match left to play. Their latest triumph moves them four titles ahead of Saint-Étienne in the all-time French league winners’ standings.

The Paris club will conclude their domestic season against Paris FC on Sunday before shifting focus to their UEFA Champions League final clash with Arsenal on May 30, where they will aim to complete a potential treble. Lens, meanwhile, will turn attention to their Coupe de France semi-final fixture against Nice scheduled for May 22.
