God-Sent Okpebholo Triumphs! Obaseki Defeated For His Wickedness, Claims Former Aide

Solomon Okoduwa, a former Senior Special Assistant to Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, has hailed the state’s Governor-elect, Monday Okpebholo, as divinely chosen.

In a statement, Okoduwa described Okpebholo’s victory as a triumph for the entire Edo people, attributing it to divine intervention. He also claimed that Okpebholo’s emergence was God’s way of punishing the outgoing Governor, Obaseki.

Okoduwa remarked, “Okpebholo, from his humble background, is truly God-sent. He addresses issues with humility and engages with people without arrogance.”

He further argued that Obaseki’s defeat was a direct consequence of his alleged harsh treatment of returnees and indigenes. “God Almighty intended to punish Obaseki for his wickedness, vendetta, and high-handedness,” Okoduwa asserted.

According to him, the reasons for Obaseki’s downfall were his oppressive nature, unforgiving attitude, and acts of vengeance.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, the winner of Saturday’s governorship election.

Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, the Returning Officer, announced that Okpebholo secured 291,667 votes, defeating the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo, who garnered 247,274 votes. Labour Party’s Olumide Akpata placed third with 22,763 votes.
