Governor Abiodun Orders Security Crackdown On Ogun Highway KidnappersOgun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has directed security forces to launch an extensive manhunt for the kidnappers responsible for Sunday’s abduction along the Sagamu-Ijebu Ode Expressway.

DAILY POST reported that the travelers were kidnapped by gunmen between the Sagamu Area Command of the Nigeria Police and Ilisan township. One victim was shot in the knee but managed to escape.

Security sources suggest the kidnapping was an insider job, as all the foreign national victims arrived in the country on the same day of the incident and were likely trailed to the location of the abduction.

In a statement on Tuesday, Governor Abiodun declared that the state will not become a haven for kidnappers, vowing that the perpetrators would be tracked down and punished.

Abiodun stated that all security agencies, including the police, the army, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Amotekun, So Safe Corps, and local hunters, are pursuing the kidnappers using a variety of security tools, including drones.

He assured the public of their safety, highlighting the administration’s significant investment in securing the state.

Abiodun said, “Following Sunday’s kidnapping incident in Ilisan, we want to reassure all residents that decisive action is being taken to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure the safe return of the victims.
