Governor Sanwo-Olu Unveils Strategic Appointments

The highlight of the recent appointments is the designation of Major Olaniyi Olatunbosun Cole (Rtd) as the Corps Marshal of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps Agency (LAGESC). This decision underlines the governor’s proactive approach to environmental sanitation, with Major Cole entrusted to lead LAGESC towards new heights.
Simultaneously, Adefemi Adedimeji Afolabi has been confirmed as the new General Manager of the Lagos State Waste Water Management Office (LASWAMO). Afolabi’s appointment reflects the administration’s focus on efficient waste management and water resources.
The official announcement, made through a statement from the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, outlined that the appointments are effective from January 25th, 2024. Separate appointment letters, signed by the Head of Service, Bode Agoro, emphasize the official commencement date for Major Cole (Rtd) and Afolabi in their respective roles.
In addition to these pivotal appointments, Governor Sanwo-Olu has given the nod to three new Deputy Corps Marshals for LAGESC/KAI, further strengthening the agency. The appointees include Osifeso Olusegun Shakiru (Intelligence and Monitoring), Oyenola Koyejo Quadril (Discipline and Welfare), and Apena Idowu Yisa (Administration). All three Deputy Corps Marshals assumed their roles on January 25th, 2024, following their appointments.
The Head of Service, Bode Agoro, used the opportunity to call on the newly appointed officials to exhibit unwavering commitment, diligence, and selflessness in their duties, emphasizing the need to justify the Governor’s trust and confidence in their abilities. As these leaders take the helm, Lagos anticipates a revitalized and more efficient environmental management system under their stewardship
