Reports confirm that the plane, which was 15 years old, failed to deploy its front landing gear, causing it to skid off the runway and crash into a concrete barrier. The plane was immediately engulfed in flames, and thick black smoke was seen rising from the wreckage. Authorities have confirmed that only the tail section of the aircraft remains partially intact amid the devastation.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing explosions and seeing sparks just moments before the crash. One witness, Yoo Jae-yong, recalled seeing a spark on the right wing, while another, Kim Yong-cheol, described hearing a loud explosion and watching black smoke billow into the sky. The search for remaining victims continues as rescue teams work through the wreckage.

The tragedy has left the country in shock as South Korea’s Transport Ministry confirmed the loss of life and issued further statements as investigations continue.
