Speaking during a valedictory session at the Senate Chambers, where the Senator’s remains lay in state, Shettima noted that Ubah’s contributions went beyond politics, labeling him “the youngest member of the 9th Senate and one of its brightest stars.”

“He was a visionary leader whose bridge-building abilities redefined political engagement, elevating him beyond the grasp of many seasoned giants in the field,” Shettima remarked.

Recalling personal encounters with the late lawmaker, Shettima highlighted Ubah’s unparalleled generosity and ability to foster unity, even across seemingly insurmountable divides.

In his emotional tribute, Shettima reminded attendees that death is an inevitable journey, urging everyone to live purposefully.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio also eulogized Senator Ubah, describing him as a man of extraordinary empathy, a visionary, and a champion for community and economic development. Akpabio lamented the void left by Ubah’s demise, calling it “a loss that will be hard to fill.”

During the session, senators shared fond memories and tributes, offering prayers and condolences to Ubah’s family. The solemn ceremony featured symbolic gestures, including the decoration of the late Senator’s seat with the Nigerian flag and four candles.
