According to the police, Haruna had called his victim (names withheld) and demanded N2m ransom from him if he did not want to be kidnapped.
Unknown to Haruna, the victim contacted the police who advised him to play along with him (Haruna).
Haruna then directed the victim to drop the ransom at a location in Kankia.
The victim reportedly took some money wrapped on a loaf of bread to the said location to give the impression that it was the said N2m ransom.
The spokesman for the Katsina Police Command, Gambo Isah, who confirmed the development, said Haruna was busy counting the money when the police swooped on him and arrested him.
