Sowunmi expressed deep concern that Tinubu may be influenced by a select few individuals, which he believes is hampering the President’s ability to connect with and address the needs of the Nigerian people. While he stopped short of labeling these influencers as a “cabal,” Sowunmi hinted at the presence of forces that are obstructing Tinubu’s efforts to reach the people effectively.

Reflecting on the enduring economic hardships faced by Nigerians, including the persistent devaluation of the naira and the rising cost of living, Sowunmi warned that the patience of the Nigerian populace is wearing thin. He emphasized the urgency for Tinubu to take decisive and effective action to alleviate the suffering of the people.

“If Bola Tinubu doesn’t fix the situation in 10 months, it’s over,” Sowunmi declared. “If Tinubu can’t fix it, sometimes I wonder who can. He has allowed himself to be trapped by a few people. I don’t know who they are, and I don’t want to use the word ‘cabal,’ but there must be a reason why whatever he’s doing is not reaching the people. Everyone has been a hostage—Obasanjo was, and so is Tinubu. The Nigerian people have endured constant devaluation and increasing costs of living for too long. There will come a time when they can no longer endure it, and we’re getting close to that.”

Sowunmi’s remarks underscore the growing frustration among Nigerians and the mounting pressure on Tinubu to deliver on his promises. As the nation grapples with economic challenges, all eyes are on the President to see if he can steer the country towards stability and growth.
