IGP Takes Strong Action On Descushiel For Missing Lyrics Of National Anthem

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, announced that Mercy Isoyip, popularly known as Descushiel, has been granted forgiveness for her inadvertent mistake of missing the lyrics of the National Anthem during the Conference and Retreat for Senior Police Officers in Imo State on Monday, October 30.

He made this declaration during an event featured on the Force’s YouTube channel on Sunday, November 5.

Egbetokun said: “The young lady was brought on stage to sing the National Anthem and I think at the end, stage fright caught up with her and that because and she went ahead to do a public apology. I felt so sorry of the error on her part, Well, I think to err is human and the lady made a mistake and you can see that…”

“I believe that some of you would have felt somehow and I believe that she has been forgiven.”
