Investigative Panel’s Findings On Bobrisky Interior Minister Promises Accountability After Alarming Investigation Report

will be taken seriously. He emphasized that any officers found culpable will face appropriate disciplinary actions.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability, Tunji-Ojo stated that reforms within the Nigerian Correctional Service will continue to ensure it meets the required standards.

The Minister made these comments on Monday after receiving the report from the federal government’s investigative panel, which examined allegations of corruption and misconduct against the NCoS.

“This report signals the start of a wider reform initiative. We are determined to hold accountable those responsible and to take necessary measures to create a service that rehabilitates inmates and provides them with a second chance,” the Minister remarked.

As previously reports the panel found no evidence that Bobrisky had spent time outside of prison after his sentencing, although he reportedly enjoyed several privileges while incarcerated. These included living in furnished single cells, having a humidifier, frequent visits from family and friends, self-feeding, designated inmates running errands for him, and access to a fridge, television, and possibly even his phone.
