Dangiwa outlined that his ministry is in the process of formulating a practical plan to drive the realization of these administration goals.

He emphasized the importance of collaboration with NIOB, citing their expertise in addressing various housing challenges including rapid urbanization, housing production, deficits, quality standards, and informal settlements.

Dangiwa further outlined the reform initiatives, stating, “Housing Reform is a major aspect of the process. President Bola Tinubu has mandated the Ministry to form a committee that will ensure that the entire housing sector is reformed so that it will function effectively. Another assignment is reforming the land use reform. This issue is long overdue. The ministry has started discussing who the members should be. Interestingly, the NIOB featured prominently in all of these set goals. So, you (NIOB) will be included in the committee as one of the drivers that will ensure the success of the reform.”

Regarding the National Building Code, he noted that it has been drafted with some adjustments under consideration. He urged professional bodies like NIOB to identify areas for enhancement in the Building Code to optimize its effectiveness.
