Kidnapping Gang Arrested In Jigawa State After Killing Victim Despite Ransom Payment

According to Adam, the gang’s 56-year-old leader, Adamu Bello, had been on the run but was eventually captured at Maimari village in Yobe State. Bello was apprehended in connection with a case involving criminal conspiracy, abduction, and culpable homicide of one Abdullahi Adamu from Musari village, Guri LGA.

The incident occurred on June 24, 2023, around 01:20 AM, when a group of about twelve unidentified individuals armed with guns and dangerous weapons raided Adamu’s house and abducted him.

Upon receiving the report, detectives from the State Intelligence Department (SID) in Dutse initiated a discreet investigation, leading to the arrest of four suspects: Buba A. Abdul, Bello Mallam, Adamu Dahiru, and Mamman Bille.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to conspiring with Adamu Bello in carrying out the crime. They admitted to receiving a ransom payment of N3 million but shockingly confessed to killing the victim afterward.

The arrest of these suspects underscores the police’s commitment to combating crime and ensuring justice for victims and their families. The investigation continues as authorities seek to bring all involved parties to account for their actions.
