According to the Registrar of the institution, Kayode Ogunleye, LAUTECH is closely monitoring the health condition of one of its former students who sustained a gunshot injury during the incident. The injured individual, identified as Iyanda Femi Israel, is a graduate of the Department of Management and Accounting.
The statement emphasized that the shooting incident occurred in a club outside the university premises and involved individuals who were not affiliated with the institution. Furthermore, the university confirmed that the person who was fatally shot was neither a student nor a graduate of LAUTECH.
While expressing condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, the university management reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of its staff and students. Necessary measures are being taken to monitor the health of the injured ex-student, and the university urged all members of the campus community to maintain peace and focus on their lawful activities.
