Yunusa highlighted Obi’s popularity and strong track record, emphasizing, “History will not repeat itself. Obi’s 2023 victory was thwarted by electoral malpractice, but this time, we are committed to fair play.”
The movement is pushing for electoral reforms, advocating for an INEC chairman appointed by the public rather than the president, and deploying more agents to ensure fair voting. Yunusa further criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, arguing that unmet expectations across the country strengthen Obi’s chances in the next election.
Unity for Change
Prof. Pat Utomi, delivering the keynote address, underscored the importance of collective action for positive change, asserting, “This movement is about sacrifice, and together, we can create a new Nigeria.” The symposium’s convener, Maazi Tochukwu Ezeoke, explained that the event aimed to expand the movement’s impact in the South-East and reinforce partnerships with Anambra support groups, focusing on strategic growth and good governance for the region.
